The district administration in Indore is proceeding with granting land ownership rights to the residents of 29 villages that were included within the municipal corporation limits in 2014. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently instructed officials to facilitate this process. Residents or their heirs who do not have a lease for their residential land in these villages can now apply for a lease under land holding rights. This initiative aims to address the challenge faced by landowners in these villages who are unable to sell their properties or secure loans due to the lack of proper documentation. The Revenue Department's circular issued on September 24, 2020, outlines the process for applying for a 30-year lease. Camps will be set up at various tehsil offices for receiving applications, and eligible applicants will be granted leases upon verification. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore emphasized that applicants should bring specific documents, including utility bills, government correspondence, property tax receipts, and voter list details, to the camps.
